Getting Rid of Pests

Country Fried Tales!
The Unwanted Dinner Guests
My grandmother told me this story years ago. Apparently, some friends of my Grandmother had a pair
of house guests who only showed up for dinner, every night. These guests never brought any food or
offered any money, not even to help with the dishes! One night, they decided to trick the unwanted guests
into not returning. Placing all the dishes on the floor after dinner, they let the dogs lick all the dishware clean,
then simply placed it all back in the cabinets. The guests never returned...and yes, they took them back out
and washed them with lots of soap!

Planting and Care of Bulbs

Planting and Care for Bulbs EMAIL VirtualeMedia How To Page Link to a Friend Click Here!
Bulbs are a breeze if you take the lazy way out, like me. Plant the bulbs in an area that
will see at least half a day of sun. Now, leave..you are done. I know, there are those who will dig up
the bulbs once they have flowered. Then, they put them in a jar for the winter as a new plant is placed
in the place of the bulb. Next year, repeat. But, if you leave them, and don't even mow them, they will
double every year in numbers and grass and most weeds won't have a chance around the bulbs because
they hog most of the water and resources. Once the bulbs have thickened to your liking, you can either
dig some up and move them about the yard, or give them away. I got mine in 4 grocery bags full of extra
bulbs that had thickened at my folks place. If digging them up is also too much trouble, just mow them
once they have flowered, or whenever you want. Bulbs like iris' and the like are quite tough, don't worry,
they will grow and survive without any assistance.
